Here is the step-by-step virtual makeover for Hella (created with Photoshop on the same picture).
Edith asked me for a chic, sophisticated look.
Here is the “before” picture sent by Hella with no makeup:
Step 1: Complexion
For the foundation, I recommend a matifying product for oily skins with a golden under-tone. Hella has 2 different skin colors on her face, so I would choose a foundation with the same shade as the lighter one.
For the concealer, I would prefer an orangy shade to illuminate her eyes and cut her brown dark circles.
Step 2: Eyeshadow
To enhance Hella’s eyes, I chose 2 “warm colors” and one cold. Complementary colors on eyelids are always pretty.
First shade is a shimmery gold to put on the eyelid. Second one is a peach-orange to put in the center of the eyelid, but a small touch only. The third one is a dark navy blue to put on the eyelid crease and a bit outside.
Step 3: Eyeliner
I created a feline look (cat eye) by stretching the eyeliner to the outer corner of the eye, with a dark blue pencil.
Step 4: Mascara
To add punch and a glamorous effect to her eyes, I suggest a black mascara. For a special event, I would add some false eyelashes in sections.
Step 5: Blush
For a healthy glow, a dark coppery blush should be applied on the cheek bones.
Step 6: Eyebrows
A dark brown or charcoal eyebrow pencil would be perfect to slightly change her eyebrows shape in order to make them more harmonious with her face shape. Her natural eyebrows are a bit too light and too sparse, so this step would make a big difference. It will enhance her eyes.
Step 7: Gloss
Because the eye makeup is more intense, I would choose a natural gloss shade, like a golden beige or caramel, which more fits with the rest of the makeup.
Before and after
Here are the “before” and “after’ pictures. Hella asked me for a chic and sophisticated look, so I decided to change her dress just for fun. I chose a satin coppery dress that goes well with the makeup and her complexion.
Hella, you are so pretty!
