Tired of looking tired?

You only got three hours sleep last night and now you look really tired? Here are some tricks you can use so that no-one will know…

Instant radiance

Begin by applying an instant radiance product. There are several available on the market. They give a shot of brightness and a lifting effect to your skin. They come in pump bottles or vials.

Eye Patches

Why not try eye patches? You apply them under your eyes and wait 10 to 20 minutes. Result: get rid of dark circles and puffiness, smooth out lines and get a nice refreshing feeling. The effect lasts about 6 to 10 hours. Ideal for would-be Cinderellas! Some brands sell them in pairs, others in packs of 3 to 10 pairs.

Eye drops

After the patches, use eye drops (Collyre, Visine etc.) in your eyes. This product whitens the white of your eyes and gets rid of redness.

Concealer

This step is the most important one. Try out the illumination concealers like the famous Touche éclat from Yves St-Laurent. There’s a lot of choice here too. Most brands have their own version. It’s a great product because by reflecting light, it lightens dark circles and hides imperfections. Some even have lifting or anti-wrinkle properties.

Illuminating powder

Sweep a tinted illuminating powder lightly over the face. Theses kinds of products are pearly, and reflect light. Go for an apricot or light pink to brighten up a tired complexion.

Blush

Don’t forget blush! Nice rosy cheeks make you look healthy. Choose a natural-looking pink and smile when you apply it. Follow the shape of your cheekbone and go up towards the temples.

Eyeliner and mascara

Line your eyes lightly with a dark navy blue pencil. If it suits your eye shape, you can also line the inner lid with a navy or dark blue kohl pencil.. Then apply several coats of navy or dark blue mascara. The advantage of this colour is that it’ll have the same effect as the blue eye drops, giving the illusion that the white of the eyes is whiter, and reducing redness.

Lipstick

If you still look tired after following all this advice, attract attention to your mouth with a nice bright lipstick. Go for red, coral, orange, fuchsia or pink.

Mask and rest

In the evening, apply a brightening mask and go to bed early!
