How to get the almond-eye look
This simple technique is ideal for those with small or round eyes. You can create the illusion of the much sought-after almond shape that gives you a sexy and glamorous look.
To get this look, you’ll need liquid eyeliner or an eye contour pencil in your chosen color, but it should be fairly dark. The ideal colors are black, brown, navy, plum or green. You’ll also need a good eyelash curler, individual false eyelashes (clusters of 2 or 3 lashes) and black lash-lengthening mascara.
Step 1
Begin by lining the upper lash-line with the eyeliner or pencil starting at the inner corner of the eye. Start with a fine line and gradually widen it towards the outer corner. Now extend the line just a few millimetres beyond the eye.
Step 2
Do the same with the lower lash-line. You should start about a quarter of the way between the inner and outer corner. Don’t forget to blend the beginning of the line so that it doesn’t look too thick. Extend this line also a little beyond the eye; it should be parallel with the upper line and there should be a space between the two lines.
Step 3
Curl your upper lashes with the eyelash curler.
Step 4
Take two or three clusters of false eyelashes per eye and glue them at the outer corners of the eyes, pointing outwards.
Step 5
Apply several coats of lengthening mascara.
You can also apply a dark eye shadow in the crease under the brow bone, extending it outwards to accentuate the almond effect.
