Summer is officially over and we are headed into the fall/winter season. Be ahead of the game by discovering the season’s top beauty trends!

EYES

This season, t’s all about the eyes. Metallic eye shadows in turquoise, plum and crimson should live on your lids when getting ready for an autumn night out. Just don’t take your eyes too far, the trend this season seems to be picking one way to highlight the eyes whether shadow or eyeliner, but never both. If you want to do both then keep the eyeliner thin and in a brown or neutral shade preferred to create a more natural look.

If your eye of choice is just eyeliner then go bold and graphic. Get creative and blot liner on the bottom lashes leaving space in between. Extend the eyeliner wing to create drama (the cat eye look is still very trendy). Use bold straight lines instead of a curved wing for a futuristic effect.

COMPLEXION

As far as your face goes, keep it matte. We figure that would be easy to do since in the colder months the hot sun isn’t around to illuminate our face with the sheen of oil. The best season face look is a flawless complexion with no shine. So you should choose a foundation that gives a matte finish (and usually they are oil free). If you have an oily skin, read my article “makeup for oily skin” to get all my makeup tips. This season is also a great time to pick up a makeup setting powder with a matte finish. They give a porcelain effect to the skin. This is the look we are looking for, but take care to add a bit of bronzer to avoid taking the vamp-trend too literal ;-).

LIPS

This fall (and winter), say Goodbye to nude lips and Hellowww to dark and bright lips!! This season more then ever is all about the dark lip. Ranging from bright reds to deep rose shades to wine stained and even purple plum lips these seasons are anything but shy. If you like neutral shades and still want to be trendy, go for a dark tan color with a satin finish.

NAILS

For at home nail polish, go for black, burgundy, bright pink, purple, crimson, plum, grey, dark navy or green shades. Metallic finishes are very trendy too. You must try silver. For your manicure, choose 3D stickers, glitters in dark shades, matte top coat, an half moon manicure or any creative designs. Nails are short or long with almond shape tips.
